The President stated that the nation has witnessed significant transformation across various sectors over the past 12 years and praised the active participation of women in initiatives focused on promoting financial inclusion.
President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday (June 9, 2026) congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, completing 4,399 days in office.
Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on becoming Bharat’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, calling the achievement a historic milestone in the nation’s democratic journey.
In a message shared on social media, the Vice-President said the landmark reflects a transformative phase in Bharat’s development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He noted that the country has made significant strides in economic growth, infrastructure development, social welfare and technological innovation during this period.
Highlighting the government’s focus on inclusive growth, Shri Radhakrishnan said that more than 25 crore people have been lifted out of absolute poverty, creating new opportunities and improving the quality of life for millions of families across the country.
The Vice-President also praised Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to strengthen Bharat’s cultural and civilizational identity. He said initiatives to honour unsung heroes, celebrate India’s linguistic and cultural diversity, preserve heritage sites and move beyond colonial-era mindsets have helped reinforce national pride.
Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s use of the Tamil phrase “Yaadhum Oore, Yaavarum Kelir” at the United Nations, Shri Radhakrishnan said it reflected Bharat’s enduring philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and its message of global unity and brotherhood.
He further highlighted key initiatives aimed at promoting India’s civilizational heritage, including the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam, installation of the Sengol in the new Parliament building, the Prime Minister’s visit to Gangaikonda Cholapuram, and efforts to bring back valuable artefacts and antiquities from overseas.
Describing Prime Minister Modi as a leader who has strengthened confidence in the nation’s capabilities through dedicated service and a commitment to the principle of “Rashtra Pratham,” the Vice-President said he has emerged as a defining figure in contemporary Bharat.
As the country moves towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047,” Shri Radhakrishnan said the Prime Minister’s leadership continues to inspire millions and guide the nation’s development journey. He also conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Modi for his continued service to the country.
