Report : Hyderabad’s Office-Goers Waste 312 Hours Annually in Traffic Jams

Hyderabad: Traffic congestion in Hyderabad continues to be a major concern, with office-goers losing an average of 312 hours every year stuck in traffic, according to a recent report. That amounts to nearly 39 working days annually, highlighting the growing impact of urban congestion on productivity and quality of life.

The report reveals that the average one-way commute has risen to around 60 minutes in 2026, compared to 58 minutes in 2024, reflecting increasing pressure on the city’s road infrastructure, especially in major employment hubs such as Cyberabad, Hitec City, and Gachibowli.

Experts warn that prolonged commuting not only affects employee well-being but also contributes to higher fuel consumption, increased pollution, and reduced economic efficiency. Recent rainfall-related traffic disruptions in Hyderabad’s IT corridor have further exposed the city’s transportation challenges.

Urban planners and residents are calling for improved public transportation, better last-mile connectivity, staggered office timings, and smarter traffic management systems to ease congestion and enhance mobility across the city.
