Telangana Government Announces Sankranti Holidays for Schools from January 10 to 16
The government has announced an extension of the Sankranti holidays until January 16, and all schools across all managements will reopen on January 17.
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced school holidays from January 10 to 16 in view of the Sankranti festival.
In a communication to all Regional Directors of School Education (RIDSE) and District Education Officers (DEOs), Director of School Education Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas stated that Sankranti falls on January 15, followed by Kanuma on January 16. While Kanuma is listed as an optional holiday by the Telangana General Administration Department (GAD), the government has decided to extend the Sankranti break through January 16 since it immediately follows the festival.
Accordingly, all schools across all managements will reopen on January 17. The Director instructed the RIDSEs in Hyderabad and Warangal, along with all DEOs, to take necessary steps to implement the order.
